#218 quotes.

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful.

This is a random post. I was on google searching for nice pictures and quotes about examination to give to these lovely sisters of mine who are taking the histology exam today. And I found too many beautiful quotes that I wish I had a tumblr to share them on, but since I don't have one, today this will be shielasaad.tumblr.com for a day. Eheh.

His tests are either to punish us, to cleanse our sins or to put us one level higher. It depends on how we deal with it.

Do not question what He gave you, because 65:2,3.

Ask ourselves, do we put dunya in our hand, or in our heart? Which money are exactly ours, the one in our bank or the one we gave for infaq?

"Allah is as what you think He is." -quoted from hadith.

True. The only book that helps us live with love and dignity.

We have this tendency to deviate our thinking from 'Allah first' to 'Allah is the last option'. Astaghfirullahalazhim.

My favourite. After all, it depends on ourselves. To think of it as a torment or an opportunity. It's how we see with all our senses!

The picture says it all. Oh, I mean the verse from the Holy Book says it all. ^^

2:208. Why do we take Allah so lightly, fitting islam into our life instead of fitting our life into islam??

Oh. Indeed. Even hadith says it, two of the most forgotten nikmats are health and good times.

post script: pictures aren't mine, solely taken from the google. credits to the owners of the pictures. no matter where they are, may Allah bless us all.

#217 - little creatures.

Dengan nama Allah yang Maha Pemurah dan Maha Mengasihani.

Alhamdulillah. First day of school in 2013. Walaupun masing-masing masih belum dapat set kompas dari holiday to school dan dari internal medicine to pediatrics, but I had a great day visiting babies and children. They are too cute that I prayed Allah will shoo away whatever disease they have.

Tapi hari ni dapat rasa fontanel pada Phillip, a newborn of 3 weeks of life, admitted to the hospital kerana pathological jaundice dan bleeding in the stools.

Subhanallah.

Amazingnya penciptaan manusia! Masa kita lahir, we have more bones. Antaranya sebab tulang-tulang masih belum bercantum dengan sempurna. Contohnya dekat tengkorak kepala. Adults have only 8 cranial bones, tapi babies have more. Sebab cranial bones ni masih belum bercantum sesama sendiri. Dan fontanels adalah soft spaces that join these bones together.

Fontanels itu pun sangat amazing. Without referring to any medical textbooks, at least I know fontanels allow normal growth of the brain and the head itself. Our brain is not fully grown when we were born, dan kalau tak kerana fontanels maka tak mampu la otak kita untuk terus membesar dalam tengkorak kepala. Fontanels juga penting masa labor. Fontanels give the flexibility characteristic of the head. Thanks to fontanels yang membujurkan kepala.

babies from the Google

presenting...our very own oppa ameer style!

Adik Philipp dah nak boleh keluar hospital. :) I was somehow sadden by the fact yang babies nowadays are given formula at very early age.

#215- Because Azam Tahun Baru Is Too Mainstream

Dengan nama Allah yang Maha Pemurah dan Maha Mengasihani.

1 Januari 2013. Tak cakap pun tak apa. Rasanya satu dunia dah tahu hari ni tahun baru Masihi. Sinonim betul new year dengan fireworks. Why eh? Fireworks=celebration. New year=worth to celebrate. So fireworks=new year?

Xmas break in December. People might think I have all the time to myself during the break. Nahh, bulan Disember la tak ada satu post pun terhias di blog usang penuh habuk ni. Sibuk. No comment.

Azam tahun baru saya? Teringat-ingat kata-kata seorang ustaz tentang surah al-Ma'un.
Penggunaan kalimah عَن instead of فِى yang membezakan maksud kedua ayat ini.

Oh. As mainstream as I seem to be, azam tahun baru saya nak perbaiki kualiti masa saya antara dua solat. T.T
post script=sorry that i am just as mainstream. :p

#214 - al-Fatihah part 1

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful.

Assalamualaikum wbt.

Before anything else, I'd like to promote a blog of a friend of mine. Here it goes. Just click the words below.

If you did click it, open it and read it..you may probably know by now that she's a mere human. Just like me, a girl struggling to live searching for Allah's blessings. She's not perfect (of course, no one is), yet she is one of my dearest friends and I respect her for her extraordinary spirits. Please do support her and follow her, for she is new to the blogging world and I believe there will be a lot to gain by reading her blog. And if you know her, I'm sure you'll love her. InsyaAllah. :)

It's 6:09am right now. I have a clinical class about tuberculosis in about 2 hours from now. Anyway, it's not TB that I wanna talk about.

***

Have I ever told you that my house here is called Fatihah w Lodzi? It is wrong grammatically because it comprises of two different languages. 'Fatihah' (arabic) which..you know what it means right? And 'w Lodzi' (polish) which means 'in Lodz'. So basically, we (me, Pidah, Fadh, Yuyu) thought about us being the first batch to be sent to Lodz (little did we know at that time that we are not just the first, but also the only), and Fatihah just seemed like an appropriate name.

And it still is appropriate despite the grammatical error. I so love my Fatihah w Lodzi and the people inside it! ^^

***

Just like the first surah in the holy al-Quran, al-Fatihah. It is the first surah, the opening to another 113 surahs to come. It is not only the first, but it is also such a special surah that without this surah, none of our solat will be accepted. Why is it so special, that we recite it at least 17x/day?

Here's one of the many reasons.

Al-Bayhaqi quotes al-Hasan who said, "It (al-Fatihah) sums up the Quran."

Whoever understands the real meaning of Al-Fatihah will understand his/her purpose of life, I shall say. Understanding, not as in the literal translation from verse 1 to verse 7. But understand why Allah started the surah with basmalah, then alhamdulillah and ended it with wa ladhallin. (forgive my roman spelling for the arabic words) Understanding why was this word was used instead of that, why did this word come first before that etc etc. If you understand it, I believe we will have a different feeling when reciting it in our solat.

InsyaAllah, whatever I know, I shall share it here. So that whatever I know, everyone who reads this will also know.

I believe that most of you (if not all) already remember the literal translation of al-Fatihah. If you don't, here's for you. [Makna Surah al-Fatihah] InsyaAllah for my next post, I'd like to share what I understand from the surah. So that we will be able to have the appropriate feeling when reciting it. This should be a very special surah to us, that's why we read it everyday.

But for now, take some time to think. Why is al-Fatihah so special? Why is it that this is the surah chosen to be recited in the solat? We memorized it since we were a mere 6-year-old, do we really understand what it wants to tell us after all this years?
