#214 - al-Fatihah part 1

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful.

Assalamualaikum wbt.

Before anything else, I'd like to promote a blog of a friend of mine. Here it goes. Just click the words below.

If you did click it, open it and read may probably know by now that she's a mere human. Just like me, a girl struggling to live searching for Allah's blessings. She's not perfect (of course, no one is), yet she is one of my dearest friends and I respect her for her extraordinary spirits. Please do support her and follow her, for she is new to the blogging world and I believe there will be a lot to gain by reading her blog. And if you know her, I'm sure you'll love her. InsyaAllah. :)

It's 6:09am right now. I have a clinical class about tuberculosis in about 2 hours from now. Anyway, it's not TB that I wanna talk about.

Have I ever told you that my house here is called Fatihah w Lodzi? It is wrong grammatically because it comprises of two different languages. 'Fatihah' (arabic) know what it means right? And 'w Lodzi' (polish) which means 'in Lodz'. So basically, we (me, Pidah, Fadh, Yuyu) thought about us being the first batch to be sent to Lodz (little did we know at that time that we are not just the first, but also the only), and Fatihah just seemed like an appropriate name.

And it still is appropriate despite the grammatical error. I so love my Fatihah w Lodzi and the people inside it! ^^

Just like the first surah in the holy al-Quran, al-Fatihah. It is the first surah, the opening to another 113 surahs to come. It is not only the first, but it is also such a special surah that without this surah, none of our solat will be accepted. Why is it so special, that we recite it at least 17x/day?

Here's one of the many reasons.

Al-Bayhaqi quotes al-Hasan who said, "It (al-Fatihah) sums up the Quran."

Whoever understands the real meaning of Al-Fatihah will understand his/her purpose of life, I shall say. Understanding, not as in the literal translation from verse 1 to verse 7. But understand why Allah started the surah with basmalah, then alhamdulillah and ended it with wa ladhallin. (forgive my roman spelling for the arabic words) Understanding why was this word was used instead of that, why did this word come first before that etc etc. If you understand it, I believe we will have a different feeling when reciting it in our solat.

InsyaAllah, whatever I know, I shall share it here. So that whatever I know, everyone who reads this will also know.

I believe that most of you (if not all) already remember the literal translation of al-Fatihah. If you don't, here's for you. [Makna Surah al-Fatihah] InsyaAllah for my next post, I'd like to share what I understand from the surah. So that we will be able to have the appropriate feeling when reciting it. This should be a very special surah to us, that's why we read it everyday.

But for now, take some time to think. Why is al-Fatihah so special? Why is it that this is the surah chosen to be recited in the solat? We memorized it since we were a mere 6-year-old, do we really understand what it wants to tell us after all this years?

Dengan nama Allah yang Maha Pemurah dan Maha Mengasihani.

Hm. Nak belajar membaca dan menulis balik. Semoga Allah permudahkan.

Malam ni rasa macam free sikit. Fuhh. Huhu. T__T

You know how when people talk about love, they used to say things like, "I will die of a broken heart." "I'm heartbroken." Or things similar to that? I learnt of a disease that is connected to a broken heart. A rare disease called Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. Or a broken-heart syndrome.

Hari ni belajar satu lagi syndrome. You know when people in love used to say things like, "You made my heart skip a beat."? Well, there's a syndrome called sick sinus syndrome. In this syndrome, you heart does skip a beat. Or beats. Eheh. I think it's so cool to relate love with diseases. Eheh.

Seronok sangat bila masuk clinical year ni. Dapat deal directly dengan patients. Dapat belajar banyak sangat benda dengan Polish people. Orang2 Poland ni sangat rajin dan sangat pandai, yang melimitkan dorang just bahasa perantaraan. Kebanyakannya kat Poland ni study dalam bahasa dorang sendiri. Banyak je doktor2 kat sini yang buat segala macam researches and publish books, tapi in Polish.

Banyak sangat diri sendiri berubah since datang Poland ni. I will just gonna keep rambling about stupid stuffs if I continue writing, so I better stop here.

This is another random entry. Sorry that it's random. Eheh.

#212 - randomly written.

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful.

It's 20th of November 2012, 6th of Muharram 1434, 9:41pm.

Dear you (who are reading) and myself (who is writing),

I'm heartbroken today. Period.

Dear you (who are reading) and myself (who is writing),

Let's be mature for a short minute and talk about something serious. Globally serious. It's all over the world; as in literally all over the world. In Facebook, people are talking about Gaza. In twitter. Hundreds of blogs. Demonstrations were held in many places throughout the globe. Even in Warsaw. It shows that this Palestine-Israel conflict is no longer a religious issue between Muslims-Jewish. It's a humanity issue. Quoting a friend's post on Facebook;

"You don't need to be a muslim to pray for Gaza. You just need to be a human. Have some mercy."

And I personally believe that the victory is going to be ours soon. This is not a new issue. It's been going on for decades. Let's pray and hope together that whatever we feel towards Gaza and the Palestinians as a whole is not a just a fling, a short-lasting feeling that will eventually fade away. We are indebted towards them the Palestinians. Baitul Maqdis is not something that belongs to the Palestinians; it belongs to the Muslims. Yet we let them fight for it and what do we do outside the ring? Do we even have the slightest effort to care about what's going on?

Dear you (who are reading) and myself (who is writing),

It doesn't feel right to talk about myself today, because I completely realize that the world doesn't just revolve around me. But, somehow I just realize that I'm changing, thanks to the world's most retardest bestest friend who happens to be my best friend. And soulmate in a way. :)

Alhamdulillah, praise and gratitude to Allah. Being a 4th year is hard, tiring, stressful and busy. Yet, I enjoy my life right now more than my first three years in Poland. :) The tarbiyah directly from above is also getting harder, but it gets us one step closer to Him.

#211 - Happy New Hijrah Year!! ^_^

Dengan nama Allah yang Maha Pemurah dan Maha Mengasihani.

Assalamualaikum wbt. ^_^

Bagus la kalau sibuk. Sekurang-kurangnya, masa kita tak banyak habis buat benda2 lagha yang entah apa2. Bagus la kalau sibuk. Masa kita terisi sepenuhnya.

Huhu. I'm so sorry I am at fault. T__T Masuk tahun keempat tak stress mana, cuma penat melampau sikit la. Sibuk.

Kepada yang sibuk, tak kisah la betul2 sibuk atau merasakan diri sibuk atau sibuk menyibukkan diri, at some points, berhenti sejenak dan pandanglah sekeliling. Dunia ini bukan cuma ada kita. Ada manusia lain yang sama2 mendiami bumi. Hidup bukan sekadar perlu peduli diri sendiri.

Happy New Hijrah Year!! ^_^ 1 Muharram 1434H.
